A REVIEW OF SEASON TWO OF JUJUTSU KAISEN
Previously on Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen is a shonen battle anime based on the work of author Gege Akutami. The series follows Yuji Itadori, a high schooler who vows to live by the words of his dying grandfather “Always help others” and “die surrounded by people.” In a world of cursed spirits, Itadori’s friends on the Occult Club make the mistake of attracting spirits to their school. In a crazy turn of events, Itadori becomes the vessel for the powerful curse, Ryomen Sukuna.
The second arc of Jujutsu Kaisen focused on Itadori training to become stronger, and the finale episode ended with a tease of Yuta Okkotsu. Somehow Itadori can retain control over his body, so Satoru Gojo invites him to a Jujutsu High School, where he agrees to help them track down curses in exchange for his freedom. From here, Gojo, Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki work together to protect the world from mystical threats.
Fans were delighted when the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 hit theaters in 2021. The prequel film follows Okkotsu as he trains under Gojo while getting a better understanding of cursed spirits to free his now-cursed friend, Rika Orimoto. Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will focus on Satoru Gojo’s younger years before the events of Jujutsu Kaisen season 1.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 plot
The Death Painting Arc, which takes place between chapters 55 and 64 of the manga, marked the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen’s first season. We now know that the “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc, which is based on chapters 65–79, will be where season two chronologically picks up the source material. As previously said, this flashback story will transport us to the early 2000s when we shall discover Gojo and Suguru Geto’s relationship history.
The manga’s Shibuya Incident arc will take place at Jujutsu High after this flashback arc, according to news reports and trailers.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s post-credits scene also implied that Yuta would soon show up, which sounds nice in principle but, well, it doesn’t seem good for Yuji.
Where can I watch Jujutsu Kaisen?
If you need to catch up on Jujutsu Kaisen, then all 24 episodes of the first season and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie are currently available to watch on Crunchyroll. New episodes air every Thursday.
